Plot
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by executing murders for the highest price
He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel “The Day of the Jackal” is set in 1963 and involves an assassination attempt on the then President of France, Charles de Gaulle.

The series moves the setting to the present era. Eddie Redmayne gives a mesmerizing performance, embodying the titular assassin with a chilling precision that makes him both terrifying and magnetic.
Unfortunately, Lashana Lynch’s performance pales in comparison, feeling wooden and uninspired
Redmayne’s meticulous approach to the role heightens the tension, making his every move seem calculated and inevitable. His ability to mix charm and menace ensures that the audience is both repelled and fascinated, capturing the essence of the character’s duality.
Overall, the film is a gripping adaptation, but it struggles at times with uneven performances
Her portrayal of a determined intelligence agent lacked depth, often coming off as one-dimensional and overly reliant on clichés. In a series that thrives on nuance and detail, her character’s lack of complexity stands out in a negative way.
