Plot
Charles, a retiree, gets a new lease on life when he responds to a private detective’s complaint and becomes the mole in an undercover investigation of a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. A remake of “El agente topo” (2020). I’m not a fan of the series that watches the entire season all the time, but we watched the entire season on the first night. It has the right mix of warm, funny, sad and deep with a plot that keeps you hooked. Ted Danson is great, of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in 1999) is fantastic and her character is someone you would want to spend all your time with. The series is set in San Francisco, which of course helps with my rating, but mostly, although it is very sad at times, it is a comedy and gives you hope for the future as we all get a little older. A solid eight out of ten from me, a series for all ages and who knows, I hope for another season.
